The day i realised what zomato took away

Today, while making food for Zomato, I noticed something. The only person I actually interact with is the delivery guy. I don’t get to see who I’m cooking for, what their reaction is, or if they even liked it. It’s just order, prepare, pack, hand it over, and done.

It made me realize how much I miss the real café experience, serving guests, talking to them, seeing them enjoy the food, that energy inside the café. That’s what I opened Zuzu for. That’s where the joy really is.

When I make food for Zomato, honestly, it sometimes feels like I’m working just for the money. The essence of having a café, the personal touch, kind of disappears.

I’m not complaining because online orders do help us grow and reach more people. But yeah, I miss those moments when someone smiles after the first bite, or says “this is amazing” before they even finish eating.

Maybe that’s just how things are now, part café, part cloud kitchen. Still, I’ll always prefer that real connection with the people I’m cooking for. That’s what keeps the spark alive.
